Credits: 3
Prerequisites: ECE 330
Class Meets: MWF 9:55-10:45 in 2535 Engr. Hall
Goals & Topics: This is a first course in probability, random processes,
and statistics.
It provides the student with an operational understanding
of random variables and random processes.
Special emphasis is given to continuous-time, second-order
random processes, including correlation functions and power
spectral densities. The effect of passing such processes
through linear time-invariant systems is also analyzed.
Confidence intervals, reliability, and discrete-time
Markov chains will also be covered.
Course Notes: Required, available at Bob's Copy Shop.
Computer Usage: Some homework assignments may require MATLAB.
Papers: None.
Projects: None.
Grading Policy: Homework 15%, No late homework accepted.
Mid-term 1 25%
Mid-term 2 25%
Final Exam 35%
