Optional Disc:  W  4:30-6:00 in 2317 Engr. Hall

Goals & Topics: This course focuses on modulation and demodulation
                techniques for the transmission of waveforms over
                communication channels.  The effect of noise on
                such systems is also studied.  The last part of the
                course introduces digital communication systems.

Textbook:       Required: Communication Systems, 3rd ed.
                          Simon Haykin

Computer Usage: Some homework assignments may require MATLAB.

Grading Policy: Homework 10%
                Midterm  40%,  in class, Thursday, Oct. 23.
