Class Schedule for Spring 2009
1/21	Wednesday.  Course overview.  Course organization.  In Chapter 1, you are
	responsible for the material in Sections 1.1-1.6, including the starred 
	subsections.  Most, but not all, of this material should be familiar to
	you from a first course in probability.  The lectures will emphasize
	those aspects that are less familiar, especially those involving
	infinitely many sets.  Today we covered Section 1.2 through Example 1.5.
	Assigned HW #1 Ch 1: 7, 8, 15, 17, 27, 35, 43 DUE WED 1/28.
	Lecture Slides (slides added 1/23).

1/23	NEW ROOM: 2345 EH.  We begin with the concept of inverse image on p. 14 and
	finish the section.  Begin Section 1.4 (You should have read Section 1.3).
	We covered through the inclusion-exclusion formula on p. 24.

1/26 We begin with the limit properties on pp. 25-26 and then begin Section 1.5 Conditional Probability. 1/28 1/30
